Sebastião Henrique de Medeiros (known as Tião Medeiros ) was born on January 8, 1983, in Paranavaí (PR) . He is a lawyer and rural producer , having also worked in the legal and rural sectors before entering public life. The son of rural producers and with strong ties to the agricultural sector, he built his political career based on professional experiences linked to public service and the demands of the interior of Paraná, which influenced his electoral base and his parliamentary agenda.
In his political career , Tião Medeiros served two terms as a state representative in Paraná before being elected federal deputy in 2022 , when he obtained 109,344 votes and assumed his first term in the House of Representatives in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027) for the Progressistas (PP-PR) party. In the House of Representatives, he has already held leadership positions and important committees: he was President of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Committee at the beginning of his federal career, integrating committees such as Mines and Energy and Science, Technology and Innovation , in addition to being appointed vice-leader of the majority bloc (UNIÃO, PP, PSD, Republicanos, MDB, PSDB-CIDADANIA Federation, PODE) in November 2025 .
In the National Congress , Tião Medeiros has an active legislative role in agriculture, foreign trade, infrastructure, and regulatory matters , with 194 proposals authored by him and 4 reported on in 2025, registered on the House of Representatives's website. Among his projects and proposals are PL 1406/2024 , which amends the National Policy on Climate Change to impose reciprocal treatment in environmental rules for international trade (the so-called Environmental Reciprocity Bill ); PL 4497/2024 , which deals with the land regularization of rural properties in border areas ; PL 1248/2025 , which names the viaduct "Jorge Gualberto dos Anjos" in Alto Paraná ; and PL 3201/2025 , which regulates the customs clearance of bulk terminals interconnected by rail or similar means . and PLP 127/2025 , which proposes supplementary criteria for health financing in border regions . He also supported important projects such as PL 2088/2023 (Economic Reciprocity Bill) , focused on the competitiveness of agribusiness in international trade, and voted against PLP 177/2023 , which provided for an increase in the number of federal deputies.
