Trajectory
Reginaldo Lázaro de Oliveira Lopes, born on April 2, 1973, in Bom Sucesso (MG), is an economist by training and works as a politician for the Workers' Party (PT).
His federal parliamentary career began in 2002, when he was elected federal deputy for Minas Gerais with approximately 64,000 votes. Since then, he has been successively re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018, consolidating a solid electoral base in the state of Minas Gerais. In 2014, he achieved a significant vote count: he was the most voted candidate in Minas Gerais for federal deputy, with more than 310,000 votes. Throughout his career, he assumed leadership of the PT (Workers' Party) caucus in the House of Representatives, which placed him in a prominent position in the party's internal negotiations.
In the National Congress, Reginaldo Lopes has been particularly active in the areas of tax justice, professional regulation, and urban mobility. He presented Bill 4327/2025 , which modifies laws to allow subsidies for public transportation fares in national urban mobility systems. He also proposed Bill 3178/24 , to update Law 1.411/51, which regulates the activities of economists in Brazil. Among his most ambitious ideas is Constitutional Amendment Proposal 2211/2019 , which provides for a gradual reduction of the work week to 36 hours over up to 10 years, benefiting public servants and formal workers, still awaiting deliberation in the CCJC (Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship). He also actively participated in the processing of Bill 108/2024 , which establishes the Management Committee of the IBS (Tax on Goods and Services), as part of the tax reform, and was recognized by CBIC (Brazilian House of Representatives of Construction Industry) for this involvement. His legislative output is continuous, combining proposals, reports, and participation in technical committees, with a focus on sector regulation, fiscal justice, and institutional strengthening.
