Trajectory
Flávio Rodrigues Nogueira was born on February 27, 1953, in Alto Santo, Ceará . A thoracic surgeon by training, with specialization from the National Cancer Institute, he worked for decades in the health field in Rio de Janeiro and Piauí , including as clinical director of the São Marcos Hospital and president of the state's Medical Union. Before entering the federal legislature, he held public positions such as President of the Municipal Health Foundation of Teresina , Secretary of State for Civil Defense , Secretary of State for Cities , and Secretary of State for Tourism in the government of Piauí.
In his political career, Flávio Nogueira was a state representative for Piauí in two periods (2000–2001 and 2003–2011) and, in 2015, assumed the mandate of federal deputy as an alternate , remaining in the House of Representatives since then with mandates in the legislatures 2015–2019, 2019–2023 and 2023–2027 , currently for the PT (member of the Brazil Federation of Hope) representing Piauí.
In the National Congress , he is a full-fledged federal deputy (2023–2027) and holds a leadership role, having been chosen as vice-leader of the Majority in the House of Representatives , a bloc aligned with the government base. According to official data from the House of Representatives, in the current legislature he has 215 proposals of his own authorship and 17 of his own report registered in the legislative system. Among his parliamentary initiatives are projects such as PL 1507/2024 (which obliges hospitals to hire biomedical professionals for the prevention of hospital infections), PL 3124/2024 (which declares the Church of São Benedito, in Teresina, a tangible and intangible cultural heritage), PL 856/2025 (which establishes the National Day of the Supplementary Book) and PL 2765/2025 (which amends a provision of the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education).
