Trajectory
Célio Antônio da Silveira was born on September 19, 1959, in Luziânia, Goiás. A physician by profession, with higher education, he began his public career in his hometown and built a local reputation before gaining state and federal prominence. He is the son of José Guaracy da Silveira and Delfina Roriz. Over the years, Silveira has accumulated significant experience in elected offices and political leadership positions.
His political career includes a term as mayor of Luziânia (GO), participation in municipal and state politics, and election as a federal deputy starting in 2015, initially affiliated with the PSDB, and later migrating to the MDB, the party he currently represents in Congress. He was re-elected by his state in successive legislatures, having assumed the mandate for the period 2023-2027 for the MDB-GO. In the exercise of his political career, he also served as vice-leader of the PSDB at certain times, and holds a party leadership position within the MDB in Goiás.
Regarding his work in the National Congress, Célio Silveira stands out both for his legislative output and for the laws he has passed with environmental and municipal impact. For example, he is the author of Bill 3944/2024, which amends Law No. 12.305/2010 (National Solid Waste Policy) to prohibit the importation of solid waste (including plastic, glass, metal, etc.), a measure sanctioned as Law No. 15.088/2025 . In 2025, he is expected to have authored more than 80 proposals and served as rapporteur (4 according to the House of Representatives's website), demonstrating his active involvement in the legislative process. He also has a declared commitment to municipalities in Goiás, focusing on health, defense of life, family, and support for public policies that favor local structures.
