Trajectory
Yury Bruno Alencar Araújo, better known as Yury do Paredão , was born on May 31, 1988, in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. He is a businessman, mainly working in the entertainment sector, being involved in music production, including the career of the artist Jonas Esticado. He is the brother of councilwoman Yanny Brena, also from Juazeiro do Norte.
Yury do Paredão ran for federal deputy for the first time in 2022, representing the Liberal Party (PL), and was elected with 90,425 votes. During his term, he faced internal tensions within the PL, even facing expulsion proceedings after his close ties with the federal government, including public appearances alongside President Lula. He later moved to the MDB, the party to which he is currently affiliated.
In the House of Representatives, Yury do Paredão assumed a prominent role on several fronts. He was elected president of the Urban Development Commission in April 2025 and, in the same year, appointed rapporteur of the General Budget of the Union for the sectors of infrastructure, transport, ports, airports, mining and energy. He also became president of the joint committee responsible for analyzing Provisional Measure No. 1301/2025, which instituted the "Now There Are Specialists" program, aimed at reducing waiting lists for specialist doctors in the SUS (Brazilian Public Health System), covering areas such as oncology, gynecology, cardiology and orthopedics. In addition, he allocated mandatory amendments totaling approximately R$ 50 million to his home region, Cariri, prioritizing investments in health, education and infrastructure. Yury also created a "virtual office" to expand dialogue with the population, receiving criticisms and suggestions directly. In her speeches, she highlighted themes such as combating violence against women, especially after the death of her sister, councilwoman Yanny Brena, a victim of femicide, which reinforced her work on social issues.
