Waldemar de Andrada Ignácio de Oliveira, known as Waldemar Oliveira , was born on November 29, 1972, in Recife (PE) . He is a lawyer and affiliated with Avante , having been elected federal deputy for Pernambuco in the 2022 elections with over 141,000 votes, assuming his first term in the House of Representatives in the 2023–2027 legislature . He comes from a family with a long political tradition in the state, continuing the legacy started by his father and other relatives in public life.
Before arriving in Congress, Waldemar worked in public service as a legal advisor, parliamentarian, and professor, in addition to leading the Avante party in Pernambuco since 2019. His political career evolved from this professional and family base, building support in various municipalities in the state and reinforcing municipal agendas and demands for development, infrastructure, education, and health for his electoral base.
In the National Congress , Waldemar Oliveira serves as a federal deputy and actively participates in committees and leadership positions. He was the Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Representatives from March 2023 and president of the Committee on Administration and Public Service from March 2024 to March 2025; he also led a party bloc that included approximately 160 deputies . He is a full and alternate member of committees such as the Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJC) and the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense , and is a member of special committees such as the one for PEC 066/23 (Limit on Precatórios) . By 2025, he had registered 94 proposals of his own authorship and 11 of which he was the rapporteur . Among his projects are Bill 919/2023 (which amends the Statute of the Legal Profession to clarify the alimentary nature of legal fees), Bill 6264/2025 (extends the guarantee of assistance to candidates with neurodevelopmental disorders in public competitions), Bill 1844/2025 (increases the penalty for homicide against security agents), and Bill 2602/2025 (on the role of children as child digital influencers), among others registered in the House of Representatives' system.
