Ulysses Freitas Pereira de Araújo, known as Colonel Ulysses, was born in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, on October 19, 1972. He graduated as a military police officer and served as commander-general of the Military Police of Acre. He was also commander of the BOPE of the PM-AC and founder of the COE and GEFRON.
Before beginning his political career, Colonel Ulysses accumulated extensive experience in public security, leading special operations and strategies to combat crime in Acre.
In 2018, he ran for governor of Acre for the PSL party, obtaining 45,032 votes (10.90% of valid votes) and finishing in third place. In the 2022 federal elections, he was elected federal deputy for Acre, with 21,075 votes, corresponding to 1.07% of valid votes. He assumed his mandate on February 1, 2023, representing the União Brasil party.
Colonel Ulysses began his federal term in 2023. Since then, he has demonstrated outstanding performance in the legislature:
Deputy leader of the bloc led by UNIÃO (in June and August 2023).
In the Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee: he was 2nd vice-president (March 2023 to March 2024), then 3rd vice-president (March 2024 to March 2025) and currently 1st vice-president since March 25, 2025.
Full member of the Special Committee for PEC 44/23 (Budget Amendment for Natural Emergencies) between May and July 2024.
Throughout his term, Colonel Ulysses presented and reported on several proposals:

Acknowledgements
Colonel Ulysses received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in 2023, 2025, and 2026, being the 1st best parliamentarian in Acre and 68th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
