Simone Aparecida Curraladas dos Santos (known as Simone Marquetto ) is a Brazilian journalist, public relations professional, professor, and politician , born on September 20, 1975, in São Paulo (SP) . She graduated in Journalism and Public Relations, worked as a teacher, presenter, and news director at regional stations in the interior of São Paulo state , and also held positions in the field of communication before entering institutional politics. She was mayor of Itapetininga (SP) between 2017 and 2022, being the first woman elected to the position, and in 2023 she assumed her first term as a federal deputy for the state of São Paulo for the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB) for the 57th Legislature (2023–2027). She is currently affiliated with the Progressive Party (PP).
In her political career , Simone Marquetto built a reputation as a municipal manager in Itapetininga, focusing on social policies and local development, before being elected to the House of Representatives with 97,730 votes in 2022. Since then, she has served as a federal representative for the MDB-SP party . In the National Congress, she has held important positions such as 1st Vice-President of the House of Representatives' Communications Committee , is a member of the Committees on Combating Cancer in Brazil and on Social Security, Social Assistance, Childhood, Adolescence and Family , and serves as Vice-President of the Roman Catholic Parliamentary Front , reflecting her commitment to religious and social values in public debate.
In the National Congress , Simone Marquetto has a broad and diverse legislative career, presenting several bills that address social, cultural, economic, and inclusion issues. Among her proposals are Bill 4943/2023 , which established the National Day of the Rosary of the Virgin Mary (transformed into Law No. 14,745/2023 ) and celebrates the date annually on October 7th; Bill 1837/2024 , which amends the Health Plans Law (Law No. 9,656/1998) to address the unilateral termination of collectively contracted plans ; and Bill 1459/2024 , which proposes income tax exemption for retirees and pensioners suffering from various rare and serious diseases . Bill 1260/2023 , which adds a provision to the Social Assistance Law to establish shelter services in group homes for orphans over 18 years of age in situations of social vulnerability ; Bill 3031/2025 , which establishes the National Faith Tourism Route linked to the Tourism Regionalization Program ; Bill 756/2025 , which recognizes Campina Grande (PB) as the municipality with the largest number of Christian families during Carnival ; Bill 3184/2024 , which provides for the free home delivery of high-cost medications by the Unified Health System (SUS) ; and Bill 3571/2024 , which amends the Environmental Crimes Law to increase penalties for arson , among other proposals focused on health, social assistance, religious culture, tourism, and the environment . Simone also served as rapporteur, in the Tourism Committee , for the project that creates the Fruit Circuit Tourist Route in the state of São Paulo for regional development.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
