Trajectory
Romero Rodrigues Veiga was born on January 9, 1966 , in Campina Grande (PB) . He is an agronomist with a master's degree and began his professional life in the agricultural field before dedicating himself to politics. His electoral career began as a city councilor in Campina Grande , followed by terms as a state representative for Paraíba and two stints in the House of Representatives—from 2011 to 2013 and again from 2023 , when he was elected to the 2023–2027 legislature representing the state of Paraíba for Podemos (PODE) .
Romero Rodrigues built his political career with a strong presence in the municipality of Campina Grande, where he also served two terms as mayor (2013–2020) after resigning from his first federal mandate to assume the municipal executive position. Over time, he was a member of different parties and held public office as a state secretary in the government of Paraíba before returning to the House of Representatives in 2023.
In Congress, Romero Rodrigues is a full-fledged federal deputy in the 2023–2027 legislature , serving on committees such as the Tourism Committee , of which he was president, and as a full member of committees such as the Communications Committee and the Human Rights, Minorities and Racial Equality Committee , among other participations. He has also held leadership positions, including leader of Podemos and leader of the largest parliamentary bloc in the House of Representatives, and is currently the Deputy Leader of the Government (data from 2025). To date, he has 171 proposals of his own authorship and 11 of his own report registered in the House of Representatives's system, with projects dealing with topics such as inclusion and accessibility ( PL 4359/2025 ), consumer rights ( PL 348/2025 , PL 2222/2024 ) and public health policies ( PL 2812/2025 , PL 459/2025 ).

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
