Rodrigo Lugli (Rodrigo da Zaeli) is a Brazilian businessman and politician, born on November 26, 1975, in Umuarama (PR). He holds a degree in Business Administration and a postgraduate degree in Public Management. He moved to Rondonópolis (MT) in 1994, where he built his business career in the wholesale sector and became involved in local politics, serving as a city councilor for two terms and president of the Rondonópolis City Council before reaching the National Congress.
In his political career, Rodrigo da Zaeli joined the Liberal Party (PL-MT) and ran for federal deputy for Mato Grosso in 2022, obtaining 6,965 votes and becoming an alternate. With the resignation of Deputy Abilio Brunini to assume the Mayoralty of Cuiabá, Zaeli assumed the mandate of federal deputy on January 1, 2025, beginning his first term in the House of Representatives in the 57th Legislature. In the House, he has already served as vice-leader of the PL and, on an interim basis, vice-leader of the Opposition at different times in 2025; he was also appointed 3rd vice-president of the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development.
In the National Congress, Rodrigo da Zaeli has a large legislative presence, with 840 proposals authored by him and 49 reported on in 2025, according to the House of Representatives's website. (turn0search0) Among the bills he authored are PL 859/2025, which establishes guidelines for discounts on IPVA (Vehicle Property Tax) for damaged vehicles; PL 861/2025, which addresses the right of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to remain in public places with assistance dogs; PL 860/2025, which proposes harsher penalties for crimes of damage, theft, or robbery of essential safety equipment; PL 1108/2025 and PL 1109/2025, which deal with rules for auxiliary lighting and LED technology in cargo vehicles; and Bill 2315/2025, which regulates the installation of electronic control modules in cargo vehicles for theft protection — initiatives that reflect its agenda in public safety, vehicle standards, social inclusion, and tax and economic regulation.
