Roberta Roma

Roberta de Araújo Costa Roma was born on May 11, 1980, in Salvador, Bahia. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Salvador (UNIFACS). In 2022, she was elected federal deputy with over 160,731 votes, becoming the first candidate from Bahia to receive votes in all 417 municipalities of the state.

Political Career

Since February 1, 2023, Roberta Roma has served her first term in the House of Representatives, representing Bahia for the Liberal Party (PL). She has held the position ever since. In April 2023, she was appointed deputy leader of the minority in the National Congress, a position she currently holds.

Performance in the National Congress

• - Bill 681/2024 – Roberta Roma was the rapporteur in the Tourism Committee for the bill that requires lodging establishments to carry out periodic checks for recording equipment in private areas or bathrooms.

• PL 578/2024 – Also as rapporteur, she defended and approved in the Sports Committee a proposal that increases penalties for infractions committed against female sports referees. The penalties provided for by the Pelé Law (warning, fine, loss of home advantage, suspension) will be doubled in these cases.

• She presented projects focused on women's rights, including proposals in the areas of health (priority care for women with endometriosis), female employability, and strengthening participation in agribusiness.

• He proposed income tax exemption for people with disabilities and their caregivers, inclusion of Chapada Diamantina as a national tourist route, and the creation of a Social Inclusion Aid program to support integration into the formal job market.
