Trajectory
Ricardo de Aquino Salles was born on June 8, 1975, in São Paulo (SP). He graduated in Law from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, with postgraduate studies in Law in Portugal and in Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). He is a lawyer by profession and has served as the state secretary of the Environment of São Paulo (2016-2017) and as Minister of the Environment of Brazil between 2019 and 2021.
In terms of his political career at the federal level, he was elected federal deputy for São Paulo for the 2023-2027 term.
In the National Congress, Ricardo Salles has participated in committees as a member of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Committee (CAPADR) since October 2024; he was also a member of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee (CREDN) and the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee (CMADS). He was the rapporteur for the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission on the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) from May to September 2023. His work is marked by a strong focus on agribusiness, infrastructure, and environmental issues, with an emphasis on regulatory flexibility and legal security for producers. According to data from the House of Representatives, he has authored dozens of proposals during his current term.

Ricardo Salles received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in every year of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026), being the 10th best parliamentarian in São Paulo and 39th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.
