Trajectory
Raimundo José Pereira dos Santos, better known as Raimundo Santos , was born on October 10, 1955, in Santarém (PA) and is a lawyer, musician, and gospel singer, as well as a politician with a long public career. A law graduate with professional experience at Banco da Amazônia and as a lawyer, he also distinguished himself in the evangelical community as an accordion player and worship leader. Throughout his life, he built strong ties with the religious community and with cultural activities related to gospel music.
His political career is extensive: he has served several terms as a state representative in Pará and was a federal deputy for three legislatures between 1995 and 2007 , returning to the House of Representatives after being elected in 2022 for the 2023–2027 term by the PSD (PA) , marking his fourth federal term and ninth elected term overall (including state). In the Legislative Assembly of Pará, he chaired the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) several times and held various leadership positions throughout decades of political activity.
In the National Congress , Raimundo Santos is an active parliamentarian and one of the most productive legislative deputies, with over 1,100 proposals of his own authorship and approximately 13 reported on in the current legislature until 2025. He participates as a member of important committees , such as the Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation , the Committee on Culture , and the Committee on Tourism , in addition to being a member of the Special Committee on Energy Transition and Green Hydrogen Production . Among the projects he authored are, for example, Bill No. 3090/2023 (creates the National Gospel Music Day), Bill No. 2894/2023 (guarantees free public transportation for people over 60 years of age), Bill No. 793/2025 (income tax exemption for people with amyloidosis), Bill No. 4095/2023 (title of National Capital of Miriti) and Bill No. 1389/2023 (establishes the National Breaking Day), among other proposals that reflect cultural, social and inclusion themes.
