Pezenti

Rafael Pezenti was born in Petrolândia/SC on June 6, 1987, and was raised in the countryside of Atalanta, in the Ribeirão Matilde community, where he worked with his parents in tobacco and onion farming. At age 12, he went to study at the São Francisco de Assis Seminary and later graduated in Journalism from the University Center for the Development of the Upper Itajaí Valley (Unidavi), in Rio do Sul. Before entering politics, he worked as a gas deliveryman, in a musical instrument store, and at radio stations in the cities of Rio do Sul and Ituporanga.

Political career

Pezenti was invited by then-deputy Rogério Peninha Mendonça (MDB) to join his team in the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina. When Peninha was elected federal deputy in 2010, Pezenti moved to Brasília to head his office, working on securing the release of funds for municipalities in Santa Catarina. In 2022, he was elected federal deputy for Santa Catarina by the MDB, with 68,208 votes.

Performance in the National Congress

From his first day in office, Pezenti has been active in the Parliamentary Agricultural Front, an area he cites as his main focus, mentioning his background in rural work with tobacco. In July 2023, he presented Complementary Bill 149/2023, which proposes updating the distribution of federal deputy seats among the states according to the most recent demographic census. Since 2024, he has been vice-president of the Fisheries Subcommittee. He is a member of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Committee (CAPADR) and defends agendas related to valuing rural producers, legal security in the countryside, and the defense of truck drivers.
