Trajectory
Rafael de Góes Brito was born on August 25, 1981, in Maceió (AL). He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Alagoas, with specializations in Marketing and Business Management. He worked as an entrepreneur in the food distribution and industrial sectors before entering public life.
In the public sector, he held several secretarial positions in the Alagoas state government: he headed the Labor Secretariat, led the Desenvolve Development Agency, the Secretariat of Economic Development and Tourism, and, from 2021 to 2022, led the state's Education Secretariat. During this tenure, he created more than ten programs aimed at strengthening education, including the School Card 10, the Mentor Teacher program, and the More School Meals program.
In 2022, he was elected federal deputy for Alagoas, representing the MDB party, with approximately 58,134 votes (3.51%), assuming his mandate on February 1, 2023. In October 2023, he became president of the MDB's local branch in Maceió, replacing a state deputy in the party's local leadership.
In January 2024, he assumed the presidency of the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Education, becoming the first parliamentarian from the Northeast to hold this position. Under his leadership, the front played an active role in the debate on the New High School curriculum, school meals (PNAE), and strengthening basic education.
In 2025, completing one year at the head of the Parliamentary Front, he played a decisive role in the approval of the Pé-de-Meia program, inspired by the model adopted in Alagoas, which has become one of the main educational policies in the country. The front also debated support for federal universities, reforms in secondary education, exemption from the ENEM exam fee for students affected by disasters, and hosted events with G20 delegations that discussed the appreciation of teachers and the National Education Plan.
He is a member of the Education Committee, the Special Committee on Accumulation of Teaching Positions (PEC 169/19), and the External Committee dealing with Soil Collapse in Neighborhoods of Maceió-AL. In 2025, he was appointed 3rd vice-president of the Special Committee of the National Education Plan (PL 2614/24) and held the position of vice-leader of the MDB, PSD, Republicanos and Podemos bloc between May 2024 and January 2025.
In 2025, he presented 173 proposals of his own authorship and was the rapporteur for 8 of them.
