Trajectory

Rafael Cavalcanti Prudente, born in Brasília/DF on November 5, 1983, is a Brazilian administrator and politician, affiliated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). He is the son of Leonardo Prudente , former district deputy and former president of the Legislative House of Representatives of the Federal District (CLDF), convicted in the Mensalão Scandal in the Federal District . During his childhood, he lived in Goiás and Lago Norte, Brasília, where he also lived throughout his adolescence. Prudente is an evangelical Christian.

At the age of fifteen, he began working with his father, who owned companies. Later, he founded the company Multi Segurança Eletrônica and graduated in Business Administration from the Instituto de Educação Superior de Brasília (Iesb). In 2014, he declared to the Electoral Court that he possessed assets of R$ 1.1 million, which increased to R$ 2.7 million in 2018.

Political career

Rafael Prudente began his political career in 2014 when he was elected to the Legislative House of Representatives of the Federal District by the PMDB party, with 17,581 votes. After taking office, he was chosen as vice-president of the Budget and Finance Committee (Ceof) and later as the legislative ombudsman. During his first term as a district deputy, he presented 116 projects, 34 of which became law. In 2015, he expressed support for the "School Without Political Parties" project.

In the 2018 election, Prudente was re-elected district deputy with 26,373 votes, or 1.78% of the valid votes, the fourth highest vote count for the position in that election. In January 2019, he was elected president of the Legislative House of Representatives of the Federal District , becoming the youngest president of the House. He was re-elected president of the CLDF for a second consecutive term. In March 2019, Prudente was elected president of the MDB in the Federal District, replacing former vice-governor Tadeu Filippelli.

In 2022, Rafael Prudente was elected federal deputy for the Federal District with 121,307 votes .

Performance in the House of Representatives

During his term as a federal deputy, Rafael Prudente has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to urban development, infrastructure, and public policies aimed at improving the quality of life for the population. In 2023, he voted in favor of tax reform .

In 2024, he was elected president of the Environment and Sustainable Development Commission (CMADS) .
