Trajectory
Pedro Paulo Carvalho Teixeira, born in Brasília/DF on June 2, 1968, graduated in Business Administration from the University of Brasília (UnB) and holds an MBA in Public Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Before beginning his political career, Pedro Paulo worked as a public policy consultant and university professor.
Pedro Paulo began his political career in 2000 when he was elected city councilman in Rio de Janeiro for the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB). In 2006, he was elected state deputy for Rio de Janeiro with 45,302 votes. In 2014, he was elected federal deputy for the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB) with 135,581 votes and was re-elected in 2018 with 86,617 votes. In 2021, he joined the Social Democratic Party. Between 2021 and March 2022, he was Secretary of Finance for Rio de Janeiro. In the 2022 elections, he was again re-elected, this time with 105,193 votes.
During his term as a federal deputy, Pedro Paulo has been committed to promoting bills and initiatives aimed at improving public administration and economic development. Among his main achievements are:
In 2016 he voted in favor of the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff and in 2017 in favor of the labor reform . In 2019, Pedro Paulo was one of the main architects of the approval of the Pension Reform and in 2023 he voted in favor of the tax reform .
Acknowledgements
Pedro Paulo received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in 2022 and in every year of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026), being the best parliamentarian in Rio de Janeiro and 5th in the overall ranking for the legislature.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
