Trajectory
Paulo Sérgio Paranhos de Magalhães was born on November 28, 1952 , in Salvador, Bahia . He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Bahia School of Administration, with a specialization in Hospital Administration from New York University. He comes from a family with a prominent political background: his father, Ângelo Mário Peixoto de Magalhães, was a federal deputy, and his uncle, Antônio Carlos Magalhães, was governor, senator, and Minister of Communications.
Paulo Magalhães began his political career as a state representative in Bahia, elected in 1990 by the PFL and re-elected in 1994, serving until 1999. In 1999, he assumed his first term as a federal deputy, continuing uninterruptedly to this day, in his seventh consecutive term , now with the PSD. Throughout his career, he was vice-leader of the PSD in the House of Representatives and a key figure within the Bahia delegation.
Paulo Magalhães serves as a member of the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJC) and the Communications Committee , standing out in committees that are fundamental to the evaluation of legislative proposals and the institutional functioning of the House of Representatives. Among his notable projects, he is the author of Bill 7.184/14 , which ensures the release of federal or state aid to municipalities affected by disasters without requiring certificates of compliance , facilitating emergency assistance to affected populations. Historically, he has played an active role in the CCJ, where he has reported on hundreds of projects and has been a constant presence at the committee's meetings, establishing himself as one of the most experienced members of the House.
