Trajectory
Paulo Pereira da Silva (known as Paulinho da Força ) is a Brazilian politician and trade unionist born on February 24, 1956, in Porecatu (PR) . A metalworker and long-time union leader, he began his activism in the workers' movement in the late 1970s and was one of the founders of Força Sindical , a central union that historically rivaled other branches of Brazilian trade unionism. He is also the national president of Solidariedade (SD) , a party he helped create and has presided over since 2013. His trade union and political activity has established him as a persistent leader in labor and social issues in Brazil.
In his political career , Paulinho da Força was first elected federal deputy for São Paulo in 2006 , being re-elected in 2010, 2014, and 2018 , and returned to the House of Representatives in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027) on November 30, 2023 , as an alternate after the incumbent was removed from office. Before his federal election, he also ran for Vice President of the Republic in 2002 and contested the São Paulo mayoral election in 2004. His trajectory includes leadership positions within the Solidarity party and important involvement in legislative negotiations on economic and social issues.
In the National Congress , Paulinho da Força has an active legislative output , with dozens of proposals registered on the House of Representatives' website in 2025, including bills he authored and participation in complex matters . In summary, his parliamentary work includes proposals such as Bill 5677/2025 , which amends Law No. 8.213/1991 to institute double annual bonuses for insured persons and dependents of the General Social Security Regime ; Bill 5882/2025 , which authorizes the review of social security benefits granted after the enactment of Law No. 9.876/1999 through the insured person's option for the most beneficial rule ; and Bill 2690/2025 , which amends the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) to restore union assistance in contract terminations . Bill 3044/2025 , which amends the Code of Civil Procedure to provide for the appointment of an executor ; Bill 730/2025 , which amends the Migration Law to prohibit visas and entry into the country in cases of attacks against Brazilian institutions and their representatives ; and Bill 4094/2025 , which authorizes municipal public consortia to manage benefits for civil servants with a payroll deduction benefit card , initiatives that reflect his focus on social security, labor law, social rights, and public administration . In addition, he was the rapporteur for Bill 2162/23, initially proposed as the "Amnesty Bill" and later reconsidered as a bill on sentencing guidelines related to the acts of January 8, 2023, seeking to construct a text that, according to him, "does not offend the Supreme Federal Court" and that promotes a reduction in sentences, in an effort to reach a political agreement in Congress.
