Trajectory
Paulo José Carlos Guedes was born on October 1, 1970, in Manga (MG) . A teacher by training, he began his public life in Northern Minas Gerais and maintained strong ties with social movements and the defense of public policies aimed at regional development and social inclusion in the interior of Minas Gerais. He is affiliated with the Workers' Party (PT-MG) and ran for office in the House of Representatives through the PT-PCdoB-PV Federation .
In his political career , Paulo Guedes initially worked in municipal and state politics in Minas Gerais before reaching the National Congress. He was elected federal deputy in 2018 with a strong vote in the state and re-elected in 2022 , currently serving his term for the 2023-2027 legislature in the House of Representatives for the PT-MG (Workers' Party of Minas Gerais). In Parliament, he has served as vice-leader of the Brazil Federation of Hope at various times in 2024 and has participated in permanent committees, in addition to being a member of external committees on regional development and structural issues for Minas Gerais, such as water security and water infrastructure projects in the state.
In the National Congress , Paulo Guedes has a continuous legislative activity, with dozens of proposals of his own authorship and active participation in plenary debates. In 2025, he has 89 proposals of his own authorship and 11 reported on the House of Representatives's website. Among the projects he presented is PL 52/2024 , which amends paragraph ten of article 73 of Law No. 9,504/1997 to modify the deadline for the distribution of goods, values, and benefits during the electoral period, reflecting his work on electoral regulations. Guedes also participated in important debates and negotiations on topics such as water security and civil defense for Minas Gerais , presenting the state's demands and priorities to the federal government.
