Trajectory
Odair José da Cunha was born on June 18, 1976, in Piedade (SP) and is a lawyer and politician with a consolidated career in the federal arena. Affiliated with the Workers' Party (PT-MG) , he began his public career as a radio director in Campanha (MG) and parliamentary advisor before being elected federal deputy. He moved to Minas Gerais at a young age and built his political base in southern Minas Gerais, standing out as a party organizer and leader in the state PT.
In his political career , Odair Cunha was first elected federal deputy for Minas Gerais in 2002 and is currently serving his sixth consecutive term in the House of Representatives (2003–2007, 2007–2011, 2011–2015, 2015–2019, 2019–2023 and 2023–2027) , always representing the PT and the PT-PCdoB-PV Federation . During his parliamentary career, he held leadership positions within the party , was president of the PT's state directorate in Minas Gerais , served as vice-leader and leader of the PT in the House of Representatives in 2024 , and was a member of permanent committees, articulating agendas in defense of democracy, social rights, and regional development.
In the National Congress , Odair Cunha has a broad legislative activity, with proposals of his authorship registered in the House of Representatives — dozens of projects and varied social and economic themes under debate (74 in 2025, with 1 reported) according to the official record.
