Trajectory

Marx Beltrão Lima Siqueira, better known as Marx Beltrão (PP-AL), was born in Maceió (AL) on November 28, 1979. He holds a law degree and also worked as a lawyer before entering politics.
He began his political career as Mayor of Coruripe (AL), first elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2008, winning approximately 72.9% of the valid votes.

Political career

  • Federal Deputy for Alagoas
    Elected in 2014, he was the second most voted in the state, with 123,317 votes. Re-elected in 2018, with 139,458 votes, and again in 2022, currently consolidating his third consecutive term.

  • He took leave from his mandate as a congressman on October 5, 2016, to assume the position of Minister of Tourism in Michel Temer's government, remaining in the role until April 2018. In the ministry, he participated in events such as WTM in London and FITUR in Madrid, launched the "Brazil More Tourism" program, and advocated for the complete opening of airlines to foreign capital and the implementation of electronic visas.

Performance in the National Congress

  • He serves as one of the deputy leaders of the largest party bloc in the House of Representatives, formed by União Brasil, PP, PSDB, Cidadania, PDT, Avante, Solidariedade, and PRD.

  • He coordinated the Alagoas federal delegation, focusing on the articulation between state deputies and senators to obtain federal resources and unified action in Brasília.

  • It received an honorable mention from Abrape (Brazilian Association of Event Promoters) for its support of the sector during the pandemic, especially for the approval of the Emergency Program for the Recovery of the Events Sector (Perse).

  • Secretary of Social Communication of the House of Representatives since April 9, 2025.

President of the Special Commission on Digital Law, a position held since July 11, 2023.
