Marcos Aurélio Pádua Ribeiro Gonçalves de Sampaio was born on September 19, 1991, in Teresina (PI) . A lawyer by training, with a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, he comes from a family with a political tradition in Piauí; his father, Themístocles de Sampaio Pereira Filho , was president of the state's Legislative Assembly, and his grandfather and uncle were also parliamentarians. He was first elected federal deputy for Piauí in 2018 by the MDB and re-elected in 2022 by the PSD , serving his second term in the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives.
Before arriving in Congress, Marcos Aurélio worked as a lawyer and served as Secretary of Sports for the State of Piauí , consolidating his presence in the public sphere and expanding his base of influence in the state. He was vice-leader of the PSD party at the beginning of his federal career and accumulated experience in committees during both the 56th and 57th legislatures , serving on committees such as the Transportation and Highways Committee , the Tourism Committee , and the Sports Committee , in addition to participating in Working Groups on topics such as 5G technology and tax reform.
In the National Congress, Marcos Aurélio is a member of the Tourism Committee , where he previously served as vice-president, and also serves on committees such as Transportation and Sports in the House of Representatives . According to official records, in the current legislature he has approximately 17 proposals of his own authorship and 2 of his own report registered in the House of Representatives's system (data from 2025). Among the projects he has presented are matters focused on topics such as urban mobility, incentives for the use of hydrogen energy ( PL 3452/2023 ), and amendments to the Traffic Code ( PL 1022/2025 ) that classify dangerous practices such as street racing and risky maneuvers on public roads as crimes.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
