Trajectory
Marcelo Crivella began his professional life as an engineer, but built his public profile primarily as a gospel singer, missionary, and religious leader affiliated with the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. He also worked as a communicator, writer, and public figure within the religious community, achieving national recognition before holding any elected office.
His political visibility predates his party affiliation, stemming from his religious and media activities, which allowed him to build his own electoral base, especially among evangelical voters.
He was elected senator of the Republic in 2002, serving until 2010. Following that, he held the position of Minister of Fisheries in the Dilma Rousseff government. In 2016, he was elected mayor of Rio de Janeiro, a position he held until 2020, when he unsuccessfully sought re-election.
After leaving the municipal executive branch, he returned to the legislature as a federal deputy, maintaining a trajectory marked by alternating between legislative and executive positions.
In the House of Representatives, she works on issues related to religious freedom, urban policies, social issues, and the conservative agenda on customs. She participates in committees related to urban development and public policies.
A significant part of his work involves defending his time in the municipal executive branch and responding to institutional criticisms related to his administration. He is the author of the so-called "Dosimetry Bill."
