Trajectory
Lula da Fonte, whose legal name is Luiz Eduardo de Queiroz Campos da Fonte Albuquerque, was born on December 8, 2000, in Recife (PE). He is affiliated with the Progressistas (PP) party and was elected federal deputy for the state of Pernambuco in the 2022 election, assuming office for the 2023-2027 legislature. Lula da Fonte is the son of fellow federal deputy Eduardo da Fonte, which gave him early political visibility in Pernambuco.
In his political career, despite his young age, Lula da Fonte quickly assumed prominent roles within the House of Representatives. In February 2025, he was elected 2nd Secretary of the House of Representatives's Board of Directors. Additionally, in May 2025, he became the youngest parliamentarian in history to assume the presidency of the House of Representatives in an acting capacity (interim), when he represented the Board of Directors during the absence of the House Speaker.
In the National Congress, Lula da Fonte is part of important committees: he is a member of the Financial Oversight and Control Committee. He is an alternate member of committees such as Health, Tourism, and the Special Committee on Prevention and Combat of Cancer, Stroke, and Heart Disease. In terms of legislative output, as of 2025, he had 58 proposals authored, but no reports registered to date. During his term, he has championed causes such as strengthening family farming, animal welfare, and education, especially those related to the state of Pernambuco.
Acknowledgements
Lula da Fonte received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2024, 2025, and 2026 from the Ranking dos Políticos , being the 2nd best parliamentarian in Pernambuco and 76th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.
