Trajectory
Covatti Filho is a Brazilian politician active in Rio Grande do Sul, with a career marked by his work as a Federal Deputy and also by his involvement in agriculture. Here are some relevant points about his career:
He was born in Frederico Westphalen, in Rio Grande do Sul, and comes from a family with a political history. His father is former Federal Deputy Vilson Covatti and his mother is State Deputy Silvana Covatti.
Covatti Filho was elected to his third consecutive term as a Federal Deputy, obtaining a significant number of votes in each election.
In his first election, in 2014, he received great popular support, obtaining 115,131 votes. In that election, he supported candidate Ana Amélia Lemos for the position of Governor of Rio Grande do Sul, although she was not elected.
In the following election, in 2018, Covatti Filho garnered 102,063 votes and supported candidate Eduardo Leite, who won the race for Governor of the State.
After his second term as a Federal Deputy, he assumed the position of Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of Rio Grande do Sul, at the invitation of Governor Eduardo Leite. He held this position from 2019 until the end of 2021.
Agriculture is one of Covatti Filho's main causes, and he is the author of legislative proposals aimed at guaranteeing competitiveness and security for farmers. Notable examples include Bill 10.499/2018, which modernizes rural credit, and Bill 3.200/2015, which strengthens control and streamlines the registration of new agricultural pesticides.
His political career is strongly linked to Rio Grande do Sul and to the promotion of policies and initiatives that directly impact agriculture and rural development in the region.
