Lincoln Portela

Lincoln Diniz Portela was born on November 3, 1953 , in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. He is an evangelical pastor, communicator (radio and television), and long-time politician. Portela graduated in Theology and serves as the senior pastor of the Solidária Baptist Church. He has also worked as a presenter on radio and television stations, including Record, Rede Super, and local stations in Minas Gerais.

Political career

In politics, Lincoln Portela has served consecutive terms in the House of Representatives since 1999, representing Minas Gerais in several legislatures. He has been affiliated with different political parties throughout his career, including PST, PSL, PL, and PR, among others, and holds leadership positions: he has been leader and deputy leader on several occasions for parties and blocs, including the PL. In 2022, he was elected 1st vice-president of the House of Representatives for the PL caucus.

Performance in the House of Representatives

In the National Congress, Portela focuses his work on social issues, education, health, and the elderly, in addition to defending Christian values ​​and having influence in the Evangelical Caucus. One of his recent projects is PL 4555/2025 , which proposes to establish a cap on readjustments proportional to the financial capacity of elderly people in private health insurance contracts and to amend the Health Insurance Law (Law 9.656/98) and the Statute of the Elderly (Law 10.741/03). He is also the author of PL 1.338/2022 , which deals with the possibility of offering basic education at home, amending the LDB (Law of Directives and Bases of National Education) and the ECA (Statute of the Child and Adolescent). In 2018, he presented PDL 977/2018 , which proposed reducing parliamentarians' subsidies by one-third as a measure to contain public spending.
