Trajectory

Laércio José de Oliveira, born in Ribeirópolis/SE on December 12, 1962, graduated in Business Administration from Tiradentes University (Unit) in Aracaju. Before beginning his political career, he worked as an entrepreneur in the service sector, presiding over several business and professional associations.

Political career

Laércio Oliveira began his political career in 2010, when he was elected federal deputy for Sergipe by the then Republican Party (PR) , obtaining 79,514 votes. He was re-elected federal deputy in 2014, this time by the Solidarity party , with 84,198 votes, and again in 2018 with 68,014 votes. In 2022, he was elected senator for Sergipe by the Progressive Party (PP) with 300,247 votes.

Performance in the National Congress

During his term as senator, Laércio Oliveira has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to economic development, defense of the business sector, and public policies focused on infrastructure. Among his main achievements are:

  • Member of the Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) , where she has worked on the analysis of bills related to economic development and fiscal policy.
  • President of the Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of the Services Sector , advocating for public policies that promote the growth and competitiveness of the services sector in Brazil.
  • Rapporteur for important bills , such as PL 412/2023, which proposes the modernization of labor legislation for the service sector.

In 2016, he was one of the federal deputies who voted in favor of the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff . He voted in favor of several economic reforms, such as the Constitutional Amendment that established the Spending Cap Rule in 2016, the Labor Reform in 2017, the Pension Reform in 2019, and the Tax Reform in 2023.

Acknowledgements

Laércio Oliveira received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025, the year in which he was ranked as the best parliamentarian in Sergipe and 11th overall in the Federal Senate.
