Trajectory
Juliana Cardoso is a Brazilian public administrator, educator, and politician born on October 22, 1979, in São Paulo (SP) . Of Afro-Indigenous origin, she grew up in the Sapopemba neighborhood, in the eastern zone of the São Paulo capital, where she began her social activism in the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the Catholic Church and in the popular community movement, basing her trajectory on the defense of human rights, racial and gender equality, and urban peripheries. Before reaching Congress, she served as a city councilor in São Paulo for four consecutive terms (2009–2022) , becoming a reference in issues such as public health, women's rights, childhood and youth, racial equality, and decent housing.
In her political career , Juliana Cardoso was elected federal deputy for the state of São Paulo in 2022 , assuming her first term in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027) for the Workers' Party (PT) in the PT-PCdoB-PV Federation . Since the beginning of her term, she has held positions as vice-leader of the Brazil of Hope Federation at various times and has been a full member of central committees such as the Amazon and Indigenous and Traditional Peoples Committee, the Women's Rights Defense Committee, and the Health Committee , in addition to serving as an alternate member in committees such as Finance and Taxation and Culture . Her parliamentary work reflects her commitment to social rights, gender equality, public health, the protection of indigenous peoples and minorities , consolidating the voice of the periphery and social movements in the federal legislature.
In the National Congress , Juliana Cardoso has an active and diverse legislative career, with approximately 181 proposals authored by her and 11 reported on in 2025, registered on the House of Representatives' website. In summary, her work includes the presentation of bills such as PL 2168/2025 , which establishes the Elderly Person Companion Program within the Unified Health System (SUS) , aiming to expand support for elderly people undergoing health treatment; PL 2739/2025 , which establishes the National Indigenous Health Day , strengthening health care policies for native peoples; and PL 2746/2025 , which establishes the National Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) Day to raise awareness about this health condition. and Bill 6506/2025 , which establishes the National Plan for Cultural Policies for Indigenous Peoples , seeking to recognize and structure specific cultural policies. I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
