Trajectory
Juliana Cardoso is a Brazilian public administrator, educator, and politician born on October 22, 1979, in São Paulo (SP) . Of Afro-Indigenous origin, she grew up in the Sapopemba neighborhood, in the eastern zone of the São Paulo capital, where she began her social activism in the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the Catholic Church and in the popular community movement, basing her trajectory on the defense of human rights, racial and gender equality, and urban peripheries. Before reaching Congress, she served as a city councilor in São Paulo for four consecutive terms (2009–2022) , becoming a reference in issues such as public health, women's rights, childhood and youth, racial equality, and decent housing.
In her political career , Juliana Cardoso was elected federal deputy for the state of São Paulo in 2022 , assuming her first term in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027) for the Workers' Party (PT) in the PT-PCdoB-PV Federation . Since the beginning of her term, she has held positions as vice-leader of the Brazil of Hope Federation at various times and has been a full member of central committees such as the Amazon and Indigenous and Traditional Peoples Committee, the Women's Rights Defense Committee, and the Health Committee , in addition to serving as an alternate member in committees such as Finance and Taxation and Culture . Her parliamentary work reflects her commitment to social rights, gender equality, public health, the protection of indigenous peoples and minorities , consolidating the voice of the periphery and social movements in the federal legislature.
In the National Congress , Juliana Cardoso has an active and diverse legislative career, with approximately 181 proposals authored by her and 11 reported on in 2025, registered on the House of Representatives' website.
