Juliana Cardoso

Juliana Cardoso is a Brazilian public administrator, educator, and politician born on October 22, 1979, in São Paulo (SP) . Of Afro-Indigenous origin, she grew up in the Sapopemba neighborhood, in the eastern zone of the São Paulo capital, where she began her social activism in the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the Catholic Church and in the popular community movement, basing her trajectory on the defense of human rights, racial and gender equality, and urban peripheries. Before reaching Congress, she served as a city councilor in São Paulo for four consecutive terms (2009–2022) , becoming a reference in issues such as public health, women's rights, childhood and youth, racial equality, and decent housing.

Political career

In her political career , Juliana Cardoso was elected federal deputy for the state of São Paulo in 2022 , assuming her first term in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027) for the Workers' Party (PT) in the PT-PCdoB-PV Federation .
