Trajectory
José Vitor de Resende Aguiar, known as Zé Vitor , was born on November 1, 1984 , in Araguari (MG) . He is an agricultural engineer, with a higher education degree in agronomy from UFU (Federal University of Uberlândia), and worked as an environmental expert for the Public Prosecutor's Office of Minas Gerais before entering politics.
Zé Vitor began his political career as municipal secretary of Labor and Social Action (2009), then municipal secretary of the Environment (2011–2012) in Araguari, and also worked as a professor of agronomy between 2013 and 2016. In 2016, he founded the “Reaja, Minas!” movement and was, from 2017 to 2018, regional superintendent of the Environment at SUPRAM (Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba).
He was elected federal deputy in 2018 with 32,833 votes for the National Mobilization Party (PMN). In 2022, he was re-elected with 152,700 votes, a result of effective parliamentary performance.
His political career and his positions regarding the environment and agriculture make him a relevant representative in the Brazilian political scene, especially in discussions about rural issues and sustainability.
Zé Vitor quickly distinguished himself in the House of Representatives. As president of the Health Committee in 2023 and 2025, he emphasized the importance of oversight and the development of efficient public policies, especially considering the enormous budget allocated to the sector. Zé Vitor also engaged in various parliamentary fronts, including Agriculture, Science and Technology, and the External Committee on Brumadinho, and participated in international missions, including COP25 in Madrid, a mission to Asia on opening agricultural markets, as well as events in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and New York focusing on the environment, bioenergy, and innovation.
From his first term, he made commitments to socio-environmental agendas: he authored the "Zero Illegal Deforestation" project and was the rapporteur for the National Renewable Energy Policy. He served as rapporteur for the Employment Provisional Measure (MPV 944) during the pandemic, allocating resources to micro and small business owners to maintain salaries and expenses.
Zé Vitor was in charge of important reports, such as the Employment Provisional Measure 944/2020 during the pandemic, then the Railway Law, the Forestry Concessions Law and, more recently, the General Law on Environmental Licensing.
He is the author of the Bioinputs Law and the Seasonal Workers Bill (PL 751/2023), which allows workers to maintain Bolsa Família benefits and have their employment formally registered as a step towards productive inclusion.
Acknowledgements
Zé Vitor received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in every year of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026), being the 5th best parliamentarian in Minas Gerais and 69th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.
