Jaime Maximino Bagattoli, born in Presidente Getúlio/SC, is a Brazilian politician affiliated with the Liberal Party (PL) . He is currently a senator elected from the state of Rondônia. Jaime Bagattoli is a businessman in the productive sector and arrived in the state of Rondônia in 1974 to invest in the northern region of the country.
He began his political career in 2018 when he ran for the Federal Senate, finishing in third place. In the 2022 elections, he was elected senator for Rondônia, with 289,553 votes (35.87% of the total).
In the Federal Senate, the senator stands out for advocating for issues such as incentives for rural producers, greater transparency in the three branches of government, and the fight against corruption.
In 2024, he criticized the Federal Government, especially the actions of the Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva, for allegedly prioritizing the funding of NGOs and foreign interests to the detriment of supporting rural producers and Brazilian agribusiness.
Among his main achievements, the following stand out:
He is the author of Bill 2009/2023 , which allows the owner of invaded or unlawfully seized private property, and the holder of direct possession, to request police assistance to stop the disturbance or to recover the invaded property.
He is the author of Bill 1988/2023 , which amends Chapter III, Title II, Section IV of the special part of the Penal Code - Decree-Law No. 2,848, of December 7, 1940, which deals with crimes against property, to define the invasion of private rural property as a crime and provides other measures.
He was the rapporteur for PLP 195/2023 , which amends Law No. 5,172 of October 25, 1966 (National Tax Code), and Complementary Law No. 87 of September 13, 1996 (Kandir Law), to consider animal feed products as essential goods.
Acknowledgements
Jaime Bagattoli received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023 and 2025 from the Ranking of Politicians , being the best senator from Rondônia and 2nd in the overall ranking.
