Isnaldo Bulhões Jr.

Isnaldo Bulhões Barros Júnior was born on October 30, 1976, in Maceió (AL). He is a lawyer and also works as a public servant and farmer. Son of a traditional political family from Alagoas, a warrior in the public sphere, his father was mayor of Santana do Ipanema and his mother, Renilde Bulhões, became a senator.

Political career

His political career began in 1997 as an alternate city councilor for Maceió. He then served as a state representative for Alagoas for five consecutive terms, from 1999 to 2018, adhering to different political parties such as PSD, PL, PMN, PDT, and, since 2016, MDB. In 2018, he was elected federal deputy for Alagoas, taking office on February 1, 2019, and was re-elected for the 2023–2027 term.

Performance in the National Congress

• Party leadership: since February 1, 2021, he has been the leader of the MDB in the House of Representatives; between 2023 and 2025, he also held positions as deputy leader and first deputy leader in blocs such as MDB, PSD, Republicanos, and Podemos.

• In April 2025, she assumed the role of rapporteur for the Annual Budget Law (LOA) of 2026 in the Joint Budget Committee (CMO).

She is a member of the External Committee on Soil Collapse in Neighborhoods of Maceió; the Special Committee on the Brazilian Port System; and the Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJC).
