Irajá Silvestre Filho, born in Goiânia/GO on February 3, 1983, graduated in Business Administration from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) and holds a postgraduate degree in Business Management from the same institution. Before beginning his political career, Irajá worked as a businessman in the agricultural sector. He is the son of former senator for the state of Tocantins, Kátia Abreu .
Irajá began his political career in 2010, when he was elected the youngest federal deputy for the state of Tocantins by the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) , obtaining 50,914 votes. He was re-elected federal deputy in 2014 with 68,864 votes. In 2018, he was elected senator for Tocantins by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) with 214,355 votes, at the age of 35, becoming the youngest senator in history.
During his terms in the National Congress, Irajá focused particularly on issues related to economic development, agribusiness, and public policies aimed at infrastructure. Among his main achievements are:
In 2016, he voted against the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff . He voted in favor of several economic reforms, such as the Constitutional Amendment that established the Spending Cap Rule in 2016, the Labor Reform in 2017, and the Pension Reform in 2019. He abstained from voting on the 2023 Tax Reform , but publicly opposed it, considering that it would increase the tax burden . In August 2017, he voted in favor of the process requesting an investigation into President Michel Temer .

Irajá received the Parliamentary Excellence Award from the Politicians Ranking in 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, being the 2nd best parliamentarian in Tocantins and 14th in the overall ranking of the Federal Senate.
