Igor Timo

Igor Tarciano Timo was born on April 10, 1982, in Virgem da Lapa (MG) . An entrepreneur in the technology and private security sector before entering politics, he moved to Belo Horizonte at a young age and worked professionally in the areas of information technology and business management. He is originally from the Jequitinhonha Valley and has been affiliated with PSD-MG since 2024, after being first elected federal deputy in 2018 by Podemos and re-elected in 2022 to the position in the House of Representatives .

Political Career

In his political career , Igor Timo is currently serving his second term as a federal deputy for Minas Gerais (2023-2027) and has a history of party leadership, having been the leader of Podemos in the House of Representatives and deputy leader of the Government and parliamentary blocs throughout the last legislatures. He was elected coordinator of the Minas Gerais delegation in the National Congress in 2025 , a strategic role to articulate the state's political and budgetary demands with the government and Parliament. Timo has also held the position of 3rd vice-president of the Science, Technology and Innovation Committee , and is a full member of committees such as the Mines and Energy Committee , the Special Committee on Energy Transition and Green Hydrogen Production , the Special Committee on Digital Law and the External Committee on Monitoring Dam Collapses , in addition to being an alternate member of the Health and Sports committees.

Performance in the House of Representatives

In the National Congress , Igor Timo's legislative work focuses on social policies, consumer protection, economic and rural development, and fiscal responsibility . In 2025, he registered 26 proposals of his own authorship in the House of Representatives. Previous proposals of his authorship include projects such as PL 1582/2022 , which amends bidding provisions for hiring professionals in the artistic sector; PL 730/2022 , which deals with special education for students with high abilities or giftedness; and PL 1832/2022 , which expands provisions in the Statute of the Elderly for the acquisition of equipment and medicines by long-term care institutions. He was also the rapporteur for the project that gave rise to Law 15.127/2025 , which establishes a national campaign to encourage hair donation for people undergoing cancer treatment. In the House of Representatives, Timo votes on issues such as the approval of controversial constitutional measures, like the PEC of Prerogatives (PEC of Shielding) in 2025, and has defended the allocation of resources to municipalities in Minas Gerais in areas such as health, education, and public safety.
