Trajectory

Henderson Lira Pinto was born on April 25, 1976, in Santarém, in western Pará, and is a businessman by profession. Affiliated with the MDB party, he initially built his political base locally before achieving state and national prominence when he was elected federal deputy for Pará for the 2023–2027 term in the House of Representatives.

Political Career

His political career began in the municipal politics of Santarém, where he was elected councilman for four consecutive terms. In 2014, he unsuccessfully attempted to be elected state deputy, and in 2018, he ran for federal deputy, becoming the first alternate. Appointed in 2019 by the government of Pará as secretary of the Lower Amazon Regional Center, he held the position until 2022, when he took leave to run again for the position of federal deputy, being elected with 74,746 votes.

Performance in the House of Representatives

In Congress, Henderson Pinto is actively involved, serving as vice-leader of the bloc that includes MDB, PP, PSD, Republicans, PSC, and other allies. He is a member of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply, and Rural Development Committee and special committees such as the National Policy for People with Autism and the Federal Competencies in Public Security Committee, in addition to participating in working groups related to the protection of children and adolescents in the digital environment. By 2025, he has 110 proposals of his own authorship and 12 reported proposals registered in the House of Representatives' system. Among his draft bills are PL 2232/2024 (includes low-income artisanal fishermen in the Program to Promote Rural Productive Activities), PL 1949/2024 (creation of the Santarém Free Trade Zone), PL 1706/2025 (toughens penalties for crimes against the elderly), and PL 4933/2025 (income tax exemption for women with a history of malignant breast neoplasm), in addition to other proposals aimed at rural producers, commerce, and social policies.
