Helder Ignácio Salomão, born in Governador Lindenberg/ES on March 8, 1964, is a Brazilian professor and politician. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG) and a postgraduate degree in Educational Planning. He began his political career in grassroots ecclesial communities linked to the Catholic Church. He has served as a city councilor, state representative, mayor, and state secretary, and has been an active member of the Workers' Party (PT) since 1982.
Helder Salomão began his political career in 1992 when he was elected councilman of Cariacica. In 2000, he ran for mayor of Cariacica but lost to Aloízio Santos (PSDB). In 2002, he was elected state deputy for Espírito Santo. In 2004, he was elected mayor of Cariacica and re-elected in 2008, administering the city for two consecutive terms until 2012. During that time, he won the "Entrepreneurial Mayor" award three consecutive times due to his work in reducing bureaucracy in issuing permits and formalizing micro-enterprises in the city.
After his terms as mayor, Helder Salomão was appointed Secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights of Espírito Santo, a position he held from 2012 to 2014. In the same year, he was elected federal deputy for Espírito Santo by the PT (Workers' Party) with 68,264 votes. He was re-elected in 2018 with 73,384 votes and in 2022, with 120,337 votes, on this occasion as the most voted federal deputy in the state .
During his term as a federal deputy, Helder Salomão has distinguished himself through his work on issues related to human rights, education, and social policies. Among his main contributions are:
Since 2023, he has been the vice-leader of the Brazilian Federation of Hope (FE Brasil), which brings together the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB), the Workers' Party (PT), and the Green Party (PV).
In 2016, he was one of the federal deputies who voted against the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff . He voted against the Constitutional Amendment that established the Spending Cap Rule in 2016, the Labor Reform in 2017, and the Pension Reform in 2019. In 2023, he voted in favor of the 2023 Tax Reform .

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
