Guilherme Boulos

Guilherme Boulos is a Brazilian politician who gained prominence through his involvement in social movements. He began his career as an activist in the Communist Youth Union and later in the Homeless Workers' Movement (MTST), eventually becoming the national coordinator of the MTST.

In 2018, Boulos ran for his first election as a candidate for President of the Republic for the PSOL (Socialism and Liberty Party), receiving approximately 617,000 votes. This candidacy brought him to the forefront of the national political scene and solidified him as one of the leading figures of the Brazilian left.

In 2020, he ran for mayor of São Paulo on a ticket alongside Federal Deputy and former mayor of the city, Luiza Erundina (PSOL). Although he was defeated in the second round by Bruno Covas (PSDB), the electoral process helped to strengthen his presence as a relevant political figure.

In 2022, Boulos ran for federal deputy for the state of São Paulo and was elected with an impressive 1,001,472 votes, which also secured two more seats for PSOL candidates in the House of Representatives. In addition to his activities as a parliamentarian, Boulos also stood out as one of the coordinators of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (Lula) campaign in the state of São Paulo.

His political career is marked by his activism in social movements and his work within the political left, especially through the PSOL party.
