Trajectory
Gilson Marques Vieira was born on April 12, 1981, in Rio do Sul (Santa Catarina). He is a lawyer and businessman with a postgraduate degree, and entered politics as a member of the Partido Novo (NOVO) party, emphasizing positions of economic freedom, less state intervention, and greater efficiency in public management.
In his political career, Gilson Marques was elected federal deputy for Santa Catarina in 2018 and took office on February 1, 2019, for the 56th Legislature. He was re-elected in 2022 for the 2023-2027 legislature, maintaining his federal mandate. During his term, he also served as vice-leader of NOVO in the House of Representatives, participating in party negotiations and the opposition/minority bloc at certain times.
In his work in the National Congress, Gilson Marques has primarily served on committees such as the Industry, Commerce and Services Committee (CICS), where he is a member, and on special committees on topics such as changes to Income Tax legislation (PL 1087/25) and the regulation of app-based workers (PLP 152/25). He has recorded an intense legislative output: according to House of Representatives data for 2025, he has authored 1,534 proposals and produced 18 reports . Among his initiatives, Gilson Marques has presented projects aimed at reducing bureaucracy and encouraging volunteerism in disaster situations, advocating that the public sector reduce obstacles and allow for more agile action by civil society. His work combines the technical profile of a lawyer with a liberal-economic discourse, prioritizing reforms and cutting privileges in public administration.
