Trajectory
Gilson Cardoso Fahur, known as Sergeant Fahur, was born in Londrina/PR on November 6, 1963. He joined the Paraná Military Police in 1983, serving for 35 years in the force, including a stint with ROTAM (elite troop) of the 4th Company of the State Highway Police, where he led operations to combat drug trafficking and crimes on the state's highways, gaining national notoriety for his actions and for his strong public stances against crime.
Fahur first ran for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2014, with the PSD party, becoming the first alternate for the coalition. He rejoined the PSD in 2018 and, that year, was elected federal deputy for Paraná with 314,963 votes, the highest vote count in the state. He was re-elected in 2022 with over 160,000 votes, consolidating himself as one of the main political leaders in Paraná. He is currently affiliated with the Liberal Party (PL).
Sergeant Fahur has been a full member of the Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee (CSPCCO) since 2019, and has served as an alternate member of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee (CREDN) since the 56th Legislature. In the current legislature, he is also an alternate member of the special committee on PEC 018/25, concerning federal competencies in public security, and a full member of the Transportation and Highways Committee (CVT). He defends issues such as the right to own and carry firearms for the civilian population and opposes the legalization of drugs. In 2025, he was elected the best federal deputy from Paraná by the Congresso em Foco Award, a recognition based on popular vote. In 2025, he presented 211 proposals of his own authorship and reported on 10 legislative projects.
Acknowledgements
Sergeant Fahur received the Parliamentary Excellence Award every year of the 57th Legislature (2023-2026) from the Ranking of Politicians , being the 2nd best parliamentarian in Paraná and 29th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.
