Gilberto Nascimento Silva is a Brazilian lawyer, police officer, and politician, born on July 9, 1956, in São Paulo (SP). He graduated in Law from the Integrated Faculties of Guarulhos and in Theology from the Pentecostal Theological Institute of Brazil. He began his political career at a young age, linked to the Assembly of God and the organized evangelical movement. He was one of the first prominent evangelical parliamentarians in the country, building a political career marked by the defense of conservative agendas, religious freedom, family, and social inclusion.
In his political career, Gilberto Nascimento was first elected federal deputy for São Paulo in 2002, returning to the House of Representatives in 2014 and being successively re-elected, currently serving in the 57th Legislature (2023–2027). Throughout his parliamentary career, he held prominent positions such as leader of the PSC, in addition to being a member of the Board of Directors of the House of Representatives as an alternate secretary. In 2025, he gained national prominence when he was elected president of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front of the National Congress.
In the National Congress, Gilberto Nascimento's legislative work focuses primarily on issues of Christian values, social inclusion, accessibility, the rights of people with disabilities, public safety, and education. His work includes projects such as Bill 1649/2025, which establishes the National Partnership Day, seeking to recognize strategic collaborations in social and economic development; Bill 90/2025, co-authored, which strengthens the legal protection of unborn children within the scope of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office; Bill 2861/2022, which establishes the National Policy on Educational Accessibility, amending the Brazilian Inclusion Law and the LDB (Law of Directives and Bases of National Education); and Bill 5773/2023, which amends provisions of the new Bidding Law (Law No. 14.133/2021). His work is also marked by frequent positions in defense of conservative agendas, interest rate reductions, and strengthening evangelical participation in national politics.
