Trajectory
Frederico de Castro Escaleira, better known as Dr. Frederico, was born on March 24, 1977, in Teresópolis (RJ). He is a medical oncologist and military firefighter, with significant experience in the care of cancer patients and public health services, especially in Minas Gerais, where he established his political career and social ties.
In politics, Dr. Frederico was elected federal deputy for the state of Minas Gerais in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, serving in the 2023-2027 legislature for the PRD (formerly affiliated with Patriota). Throughout his parliamentary career, he held leadership positions within his party, especially as deputy leader and leader of his party and parliamentary blocs, strengthening his advocacy on issues of health, the rights of the elderly, and oversight of the Executive branch's actions.
In the National Congress, Dr. Frederico primarily serves on the Health and Elderly Rights committees. During the current legislature, he has already authored hundreds of proposals and served as rapporteur for several projects. He was elected president of the Elderly Rights Committee in 2021, highlighting his commitment to policies for aging and assistance to the elderly population. In his speeches, he often emphasizes the defense of life, medical work, and social justice in access to quality healthcare.
