Trajectory
Flávio Bolsonaro, born in Resende/RJ, is a Brazilian politician, businessman ,lawyer , and member of the Liberal Party (PL) . He holds specializations in Public Policy from IUPERJ and in Entrepreneurship from FGV . He is the son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and Rogéria Nantes Nunes Braga.
Flávio Bolsonaro began his political career in 2002, when he was elected to the position of state deputy, being re-elected in the following elections in 2006, 2010 and 2014. In the 2018 elections, Flávio Bolsonaro was a candidate for senator for the state of Rio de Janeiro for the then Social Liberal Party (PSL) , currently called the Liberal Party (PL) .
Flávio Bolsonaro held a chair in several committees of the Federal Senate, including the Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) , the Committee on Communication and Digital Law (CCDD) , and the Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ) .
Among his main achievements are:
The author of Bill 5335/2023 amends Law 10.257 of July 10, 2000, to include rules on granting special use rights for housing purposes and grants irregular possessors of urban properties up to 80 m2 (eighty square meters) on land belonging to the Union, the State, or the Municipality, the definitive title of ownership of the property.
He was the rapporteur for PEC 3/2022 , known as the "Beach PEC," which transfers coastal land to its private occupants (upon payment) and to states or municipalities (free of charge).
He is also the author of Bill 4082/2024 , which prohibits the granting of provisional release and the application of precautionary measures other than imprisonment for those caught in the act of committing heinous crimes or those equivalent to them.
In May 2023, Nikolas Ferreira , Carla Zambelli , Eduardo Bolsonaro , and Flávio Bolsonaro were fined for disseminating a decontextualized video about Lula during the 2022 elections. According to the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) ruling, the defendants shared false information on their social media with the intention of harming the candidacy of former president Lula. The video, produced by Ferreira and shared by the parliamentarians, associated the slogan "Faz o L" (Make the L) with the encouragement of drug use by children and adolescents, the association of these behaviors with criminality, and proposals for censorship of social media.

Flávio Bolsonaro received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023, 2024, and 2025 from the Ranking of Politicians , being the 2nd best senator from Rio de Janeiro and 18th in the overall ranking of the Federal Senate.
