Fernando Monteiro de Albuquerque was born on September 17, 1976, in Recife (PE) . A businessman by training, he began his political career in Pernambuco and gained prominence when he assumed a federal mandate as an alternate deputy in 2015 , being made permanent and re-elected by voters in 2018 and 2022 , currently serving his third term as a federal deputy for the 2023–2027 legislature . Throughout his parliamentary career, he moved between parties such as PP and Republicanos and, in 2025, officially joined the PSD , becoming the party's first federal deputy in Pernambuco.
His political career includes several internal leadership positions , notably serving as deputy leader in party blocs throughout various legislatures, and strong advocacy for municipal and regional issues focused on the development of Pernambuco. Monteiro has also sought resources and partnerships for infrastructure, health, and local economic projects and investments, consolidating his base in the Agreste, Sertão, and other regions of the state.
In the National Congress , Fernando Monteiro is a member of the Special Committee on Energy Transition and Green Hydrogen Production and the Finance and Taxation Committee , as well as an alternate member of the Urban Development Committee in the House of Representatives. In 2025, he was the 3rd vice-president of the Finance and Taxation Committee and president of the Brazil/Slovenia Parliamentary Group . According to official data from the House of Representatives, he has 47 proposals of his own authorship and 1 reported on in the current legislature. Among the projects presented are proposals such as PL 1125/2025 (which confers on the municipality of Lagoa Grande the title of Northeastern Capital of Grapes and Wine), PL 4860/2024 (creates the Cangaço Tourist Route), and PL 4142/2025 (amends the Law on Diffuse Rights), in addition to matters focused on irrigation and regional development in the São Francisco Basin ( PL 2113/2024 ).
