Trajectory
Félix Mendonça Júnior was born in Itabuna, Bahia, on March 16, 1963. He graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), where he also completed specializations in management and planning. Before entering politics, he built a career as an engineer and businessman, working on infrastructure and urban development projects. He is the son of former federal deputy and former mayor of Itabuna, Félix Mendonça , a prominent figure in Bahia politics, which influenced his public career. He is married and has three children.
Félix Mendonça Júnior began his political career in the 2000s with the PDT (Democratic Labor Party) , a party in which he became one of the main leaders in Bahia.
He was first elected federal deputy in 2010 , and has been re-elected consecutively since then (2014, 2018 and 2022), consolidating his electoral base in the south and southeast of Bahia. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive term in the House of Representatives.
He also ran for mayor of Itabuna, beginning his political career at the municipal level before gaining national recognition.
In the House of Representatives, Félix Mendonça Júnior's work focuses on infrastructure, regional development, innovation, and science and technology .
He was president of the Committee on Science and Technology, Communication and Informatics (CCTCI) , in addition to being a member of the Committees on Finance and Taxation (CFT) and Transportation (CVT) .
Among its most prominent causes are:
Promoting science, technology, and innovation as an engine for economic growth;
Advocating for investments in transportation and logistics infrastructure for Bahia;
Support for the democratization of internet access and connectivity in the country;
Advocating for quality public education, with an emphasis on technical and technological education;
Promoting sustainable regional development, especially in the Northeast.

I request, pursuant to Article 155, item I, of the Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives, an Urgent Procedure for Bill 2158/23, authored by Senator EFRAIM FILHO, UNIÃO/PB, which amends Law No. 5,991, of December 17, 1973, which "provides for the Sanitary Control of the Trade in Drugs, Medicines, Pharmaceutical Inputs and Related Products, and takes other measures", to regulate the sale of medicines in pharmacies or drugstores located in the sales area of supermarkets.
