Felipe Carreras

Felipe Augusto Lyra Carreras was born on April 16, 1975, in Recife (PE) . An entrepreneur by training and a long-time member of the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) since 1995, he began his political career in the student movement and party activism before entering electoral politics. He was first elected federal deputy for Pernambuco in 2014 , taking office in 2015 , and re-elected in 2018 and 2022 , currently serving his term in the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives .

Political Career

His political career includes experience in both the legislative and executive spheres at the state and municipal levels: he took leave from his first federal term to serve as Secretary of Tourism, Sports and Leisure of Pernambuco between 2015 and 2018, and consolidated his presence in Congress by being chosen to lead the PSB caucus in the House of Representatives . Throughout his terms, he also had a prominent role as a parliamentary liaison and was Deputy Leader of the Majority (2024–2025) and, since March 2025, Deputy Leader of the Government in the National Congress .

Performance in the House of Representatives

In Congress, Felipe Carreras is a full-fledged federal deputy in the 2023–2027 legislature and actively participates in permanent and special committees. Up to 2025, he registered 82 proposals of his own authorship and 1 of which he was the rapporteur in the House of Representatives, being a full member of the Consumer Protection, Sports, and Special Committees on the Sports Incentive Law (PLP 234/24) , and an alternate member in committees such as Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Services , in addition to being part of working groups on the marketing of food supplements and representation in the Mercosur Parliament. Among his proposals are projects such as PL 3148/2024 (inscription of Eduardo Campos in the Book of Heroes of the Fatherland), PL 2586/2024 (recognition of the Garanhuns Winter Festival as a cultural manifestation) and PL 3791/2025 (inscription of José Correia Picanço in the same book), in addition to initiatives in defense of the consumer, culture and sport.
