Eduardo Henrique da Fonte de Albuquerque Silva, known as Eduardo da Fonte , was born on October 17, 1972 , in Recife (PE) and is a businessman by training. Affiliated with the Progressistas (PP) party , he began his political career at a young age and was elected federal deputy for Pernambuco in 2006 , taking office in 2007 ; since then he has been consecutively re-elected , currently serving his term in the 2023–2027 legislature in the House of Representatives .
His political career is marked by a long history in Congress, including leadership positions within party blocs over the years, such as leader of the PP in the House of Representatives , deputy leader in various blocs, and, since November 18, 2025, deputy leader of the Progressive Union (UNIÃO, PP, PSD, Republicanos, MDB, PSDB Cidadania, PODE) . He also holds institutional positions as 2nd secretary of the Brazil/BRICS Parliamentary Group and 1st secretary of the Brazil/Malaysia Parliamentary Group , in addition to having been a member of other party and strategic committees.
In Congress, Eduardo da Fonte actively participates in committees and legislative production: he is a member of the Special Committee on Prevention and Combat of Cancer, Stroke and Heart Disease , the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense , the Committee on Financial Oversight and Control , and the Special Committee on the National Policy for People with Autism (PL 3080/20) , and also an alternate member of the Health Committee . By 2025, he has 127 proposals of his own authorship and 3 of which he is the rapporteur registered in the House of Representatives. Among her most recent projects are Bill 6418/2025 (creates a "Blue House" public policy for specialized outpatient care for people with ASD), Bill 6348/2025 (amends the Maria da Penha Law to include women victims of domestic violence in assistance programs), Bill 253/2025 (updates the classification of micro and small businesses), Bill 3135/2025 (exemption from ECAD fees for religious events), projects related to the inclusion of people with disabilities, and a proposed Bill 2998/2024 aimed at making it mandatory for health plans to cover integrated therapies for people with ASD, among other initiatives that reflect work in health, social inclusion, and economic development.
