Domingos Gomes de Aguiar Neto was born on April 29, 1988 , in Fortaleza (CE) . He is a lawyer by training, having graduated from the University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR) in 2015, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Administration at IDP in Brasília. The son of an influential political quartet, his father, Domingos Filho, was formerly the vice-governor of Bahia and president of the Legislative Assembly; his mother, Patrícia Aguiar, is a state representative. Domingos Neto was elected at age 22 as the youngest and most voted federal deputy in Ceará in the 2010 elections.
He began his political career in the PSB in 2009. In 2010, he ran for federal deputy for the first time and was elected with a large majority. Subsequently, he was with PROS (2013–2015), where he even led the PROS Youth wing, and in 2016 he joined PSD, for which he was re-elected and consolidated his political base. Throughout his terms, he held significant positions: he was party leader (PSD in 2018), coordinator of the Ceará caucus in 2019, and rapporteur of the 2020 Budget.
Domingos Neto has been a central figure in regional development agendas and political coordination. In 2025, he authored 55 proposals and served as rapporteur on 2 projects , being one of the leading deputies in the legislative agenda. He serves as a member of the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJC) and the Special Committee on Energy Transition and Green Hydrogen Production , in addition to being an alternate member of committees such as Agriculture, Social Security, Labor, and Mines and Energy. Also in 2025, he assumed the important role of coordinator of the Ceará federal delegation , a strategic position for coordinating state projects and agendas in Congress.
Furthermore, he authored Bill 4869/2024, which allows patients to define their medical treatment in advance through advance directives (living wills) , promoting a more collaborative relationship between doctors and patients during times of incapacity.
Acknowledgements
Domingos Neto received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2024 and 2025 from the Ranking of Politicians , being the best parliamentarian in Ceará and 60th in the overall ranking.
