Davys Frederico Teixeira Linhares, known as Fred Linhares, born in Brasília/DF on January 26, 1980, is a Brazilian journalist and politician, affiliated with the Republicanos party. He currently holds the office of federal deputy for the Federal District since 2023. He is the son of former district deputy and radio broadcaster Silvio Linhares, founder of the radio program "Na Polícia e nas Ruas" (In the Police and on the Streets). He began his journalism career in the 2000s as a reporter for his father's program on Atividade FM radio, covering crime in Brasília and surrounding cities in the Federal District at night. After graduating in journalism, he joined the program's team in the studio. With the death of Silvio Linhares, Fred took over the program and continues to do so to this day. His radio program also aired on Clube FM and JK FM between 2014 and 2018 before returning to Atividade FM in 2018.
He made his television debut on November 14, 2011, on TV Brasília (an affiliate of RedeTV! in the Federal District), hosting the program DF Alerta. On February 1, 2017, he was hired by RecordTV Brasília to present Balanço Geral DF.
Fred Linhares began his political career in the 2022 elections, when he was elected federal deputy for the Federal District with 165,358 votes , being the second most voted in his party.
During his term as a federal deputy, Fred Linhares has stood out for his work on issues related to public safety and communication. He voted in favor of the 2023 tax reform .
Acknowledgements
Fred Linhares received the Parliamentary Excellence Award in 2023, 2025, and 2026 from the Ranking of Politicians , being the 3rd best parliamentarian in the Federal District and 74th in the overall ranking for the Legislature.
